At its core, a Life Group is a small group of people who gather to encourage and care for each other as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and each other. Our life groups are FREE MARKET which means that you can take what you are already doing and turn it into a Life Group.

From sports groups to lunch groups, mom groups to men groups, Bible study groups to hobby groups, our groups are as varied as we are. To your activity---add Jesus, the Word, prayer, maybe some good food, and you have a LIFE GROUP!

Every Life Group is unique. Some discuss the Sunday message, some do a Bible study, some serve together in the community, some play games, or engage in a hobby.

Two things you’ll find in every Life Group, though, are fellowship and life giving conversations that help people grow in their faith as they study the Word and pray for each other.

TPC Life Groups meet at different points throughout the year---- typically in a 8 week semester during the spring and fall. During each semester, most groups meet once a week.

But, you can start a new Life Group any time during the year. All you have to do is take our ON DEMAND Life Group training, sign up to lead a group, and follow up with our Life Group director.

Many groups continue meeting after each semester for deeper fellowship, fun, and outreach together. Some groups continue meeting year round taking small breaks. Some groups just last for the 8 week semester.

We know that every person’s life and schedule are different so even if you can’t attend every single gathering, there is still great value in being part of a group. We strive for long term relationships within each group while welcoming new people to engage in community at Turning Point.

Life groups meet mostly in homes or public places throughout Southeast Texas. We are a growing church so if you live in an area that currently does not have a life group community, we would love to meet with you regarding creating community where you live.

Life groups intentionally do not meet at the church except for a few designated specialty groups including sports groups and Grief Share.

Childcare varies from group to group. When you search the directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available.

It’s understandable to want to find people you feel comfortable opening up to and developing friendships with. That being said, if you’ve joined a Life Group and aren’t sure if it’s the right fit for you, don’t give up. Keep in mind that there’s no such thing as a perfect Life Group because there are no perfect people.

Remember to have grace and patience during the process. If it’s clear that this group isn’t the best fit for you, though, give another group a try or seek out community with those you serve with here at TPC or within your neighborhood or workplace. Because we believe in the importance of being together, we believe God will provide a community for everyone—including you!

This might be a sign that God is calling you to start a group! If God has placed a certain passion or calling within you, He might want you to take a step of faith and launch a Life Group around it. You won’t have to do this alone, though. Your Life Groups team is here to support you every step of the way.
